Australian Radio Memorial

The Australian Radio Memorial is an initiative dedicated to preserving and continuing the documentation of memorials for Australian broadcasters.

The project was originally founded in 2017 by Jose Auditore as The Australian Radio Remembrance Project. Following Jose’s passing, the original WordPress website became inaccessible. Recognizing the immense time and devotion Jose poured into this record-keeping, this revived project ensures his vital work lives on.

Built using PHP and a MySQL database, the platform stores memorial entries and links to photo collections, all of which are crowdsourced from the public via the “Submit” link in the main navigation. The site features a streamlined administration backend, allowing administrators to manage active and pending listings, update database items, and handle rejections seamlessly.

While development briefly paused in mid-2025 due to a career transition, the project is actively moving forward. A dedicated domain has been secured, and the website will officially launch at its permanent home once the database updates are complete.
